Key takeaways
  • Recruiter salary guides put a Dubai marketing manager at about AED 25,000 to 35,000 a month and most specialists at AED 18,000 to 30,000.
  • On-costs (visa, Emirates ID, medical insurance, gratuity, desk and laptop) add roughly 15% on top of salaries in our estimate.
  • A typical 3 person team costs around AED 89,000 a month all in, and a 5 person team around AED 141,000, before any ad spend.
  • Recruitment fees, notice periods and ramp-up time are the costs most owners forget to budget.

Most owners who ask about the marketing team cost in Dubai have one number in mind: the salary on the job ad. The real monthly bill is bigger, because a UAE hire also brings a visa, insurance, gratuity, a desk, tools and a few months before the work pays back. Here is the full picture for 2026, with every figure sourced or clearly marked as our estimate.

Salaries by role in 2026

Two recruiter guides give the most useful public benchmarks for Dubai. The Robert Walters Middle East Salary Survey 2026 has a UAE marketing table. The Hays GCC Salary Guide 2025 splits digital roles further (its figures are total fixed monthly packages as of Q4 2024). All amounts are AED per month.

Role Robert Walters 2026 (UAE) Hays 2025 (UAE)
Marketing manager 25,000 to 35,000 (avg 30,000) 35,000 to 45,000 (avg 40,000)
Digital marketing manager 25,000 to 35,000 (avg 30,000) 36,000 to 45,000 (avg 40,500)
Performance or SEO/PPC specialist Not listed separately 18,000 to 24,000 (avg 21,000)
SEO/PPC/SEM manager Not listed separately 25,000 to 40,000 (avg 32,500)
Content manager 25,000 to 35,000 (avg 30,000) Not listed
Content executive Not listed 20,000 to 28,000 (avg 24,000)
Social media manager 22,000 to 30,000 (avg 26,000) 26,000 to 35,000 (avg 30,500)
Social media executive Not listed 20,000 to 28,000 (avg 24,000)
CRM manager 25,000 to 35,000 (avg 30,000) 30,000 to 40,000 (avg 35,000)
CRM executive Not listed 20,000 to 25,000 (avg 22,500)
Marketing or digital executive 18,000 to 25,000 (avg 21,500) 17,000 to 21,000 (avg 19,000)

Two cautions. First, the guides disagree: Hays is consistently higher, partly because its data is a year older and drawn from the roles it fills. Second, recruiter guides reflect the people recruiters place, often at larger employers. A 20 person clinic or setup firm may hire below these ranges, but it will compete with these numbers for experienced people. We use the Robert Walters figures as the base case below.

What the employer pays on top of salary

Work permit, visa, Emirates ID and medical

For a mainland company, the employer must get a work permit from MOHRE before the person starts work. According to u.ae, issuing or renewing a work permit costs AED 250 to AED 3,450 depending on whether the company is classified A, B or C. The Emirates ID costs AED 100 per year of residence plus a AED 100 service fee according to ICP.

Add the entry permit, status change, medical fitness test and typing fees, and Dubai service firms quote AED 3,000 to AED 7,000 for a two year employment visa. The labour law also says the employer cannot charge the worker for recruitment fees (Article 6). Spread over two years, that is roughly AED 125 to AED 290 per person per month.

Medical insurance

In Dubai, employers must provide and fund health insurance for their staff, a rule in force since January 2014 (Gulf News, 2025). The basic Essential Benefits Plan is typically AED 550 to AED 650 a year, but it is designed for lower salaries. For a marketing professional you will usually buy a better plan. Our estimate: AED 3,000 to AED 8,000 per person per year for a mid range individual plan, based on how plans are tiered; get quotes from a broker for your team.

End of service gratuity

Under Article 51 of Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021, a full time foreign employee with a year or more of service earns 21 days of basic wage for each of the first five years, and 30 days for each year after, capped at two years of wages. It is calculated on basic salary only.

Basic salary is often set at a share of the total package. If basic is 60% of package (our assumption, check your own contracts), gratuity accrues at about 3.5% of the total monthly package. On a AED 30,000 package, set aside around AED 1,050 a month.

Desk, laptop and annual leave

A coworking desk or a share of office rent, plus a laptop and phone, is our estimate of AED 1,500 to AED 3,000 per person per month once equipment is spread over three years. The law also gives 30 days of paid annual leave per year of service (Article 29), so you are paying for roughly 11 months of output a year.

Tools

A small team needs an SEO tool, a CRM with email, design software and analytics. Two anchors: Semrush starts at USD 139 a month (about AED 510) on monthly billing, and HubSpot Marketing Hub Professional starts at USD 800 a month (about AED 2,940) with a one time USD 3,000 onboarding fee. Our estimate for a 3 to 5 person team is AED 3,000 to AED 5,000 a month in software, before ad spend.

Agency retainers, for comparison

There is no independent survey of Dubai agency pricing, so treat these as indicative. A 2026 price guide by Dubai agency Digital Gravity puts SEO at AED 3,000 to AED 25,000 or more a month, social media at AED 2,500 to AED 15,000 or more, paid ads management at AED 2,000 to AED 10,000 or more (or 10% to 20% of ad spend), and full service retainers at AED 7,000 to AED 50,000 or more. Agencies publish these guides partly to win clients, so ask for a written scope with each quote. We compare the models in detail in agency vs in-house vs AI marketing team in Dubai.

Summary: monthly cost of a 3 to 5 person team

Base case uses Robert Walters averages where available and Hays averages for specialist roles. On-costs per person: visa AED 250, insurance AED 500, desk and equipment AED 2,000, and gratuity at 3.5% of salary (all our estimates, from the figures above).

Ad spend is not included. Neither are one off costs, which are covered next.

The costs owners forget

  • Recruitment fees. Agencies charge a percentage of annual salary, paid by the employer. Our estimate is 15% to 20% for mid level roles, so AED 54,000 to AED 72,000 for a AED 30,000 a month manager.
  • Notice periods. The law sets notice at 30 to 90 days (Article 43), so your best candidate may join two or three months after saying yes.
  • Ramp-up. A new marketer needs months to learn your offer, customers and data before results come through. We break down the timeline in hiring a marketing executive in Dubai.
  • Gaps. A team of three still rarely covers ads, SEO, content, CRM and WhatsApp follow-up well at the same time.

Checklist before you budget

  • Pick the 2 or 3 outcomes you need first (booked appointments, qualified leads, sales), not the roles.
  • Price each role from at least two salary guides and one live job ad.
  • Add about 15% for on-costs, plus tools.
  • Budget one off recruitment fees and 2 to 3 months of notice delay.
  • Keep ad spend as a separate line.
  • Compare the total with an agency scope and an AI team scope for the same outcomes.

How Hadi approaches this

Hadi installs an AI marketing team instead of a payroll: six specialist AI agents for website, SEO, content, ads, CRM and a WhatsApp front desk, coordinated by Hadi and run every month by a dedicated human growth expert. The entry offer focuses on one measurable problem, ads that fill the calendar, tracked weekly as cost per booked appointment. It is not the right fit for every business, and we will say so on a first call. See how the team works and the entry offer, or talk to us.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a marketing manager earn in Dubai?

The Robert Walters Middle East Salary Survey 2026 puts a marketing manager in the UAE at AED 25,000 to 35,000 a month, with an average of AED 30,000. The Hays GCC Salary Guide 2025 is higher at AED 35,000 to 45,000, so expect a wide range depending on experience and sector.

What does an employer pay on top of salary in the UAE?

The employer pays the work permit, residence visa, Emirates ID and medical test, provides health insurance (mandatory in Dubai since 2014), and owes end of service gratuity under Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021. Add a desk, equipment and recruitment fees if you use an agency.

Is a marketing agency cheaper than an in-house team in Dubai?

Usually yes in cash terms. Agency price guides published in Dubai show monthly retainers from about AED 5,000 to AED 50,000 or more, while one experienced in-house hire costs AED 25,000 to 35,000 a month before on-costs. The trade-off is control and focus, not just price.

How much is end of service gratuity in the UAE?

For a full time foreign worker with at least one year of service, it is 21 days of basic wage for each of the first five years and 30 days for each year after, capped at two years of wages. It is calculated on the last basic salary, not on allowances.
